It turned out to be totally different.

To be frank, I didn't like it. (It's not because I don't know how to appreciate these art thingys, I liked PotO okay..)

Perhaps it's because I didn't know what was going on most of the time; perhaps it's because I slept quite a bit during the performance; perhaps it's because I slept at 1+ last night and woke at 7 today and busied myself the entire morning. Lol.

The entire performance was composed of singing and dancing (obviously, that's why it's a dance-musical), and some of the lyrics I couldn't really hear. At one point when they were performing something for the old cat leader I nodded off for a bit, until that particular song was over. Hahas.

My favourite song of the musical - Memory, was performed a few times by different characters. It was nice that their singing styles were different; shows subtle differences in singing levels.

Entirely, the dance musical was really interactive, with cats prowled around the audiences' seats and the zilian cat getting the entire audience to cheer for him and clap for him lol. Best part I felt was unique to circle 1: a certain cat prowling at circle 1 after the intermission chased after this little girl, frightening her, making her scream. Lol. And he also attempted a "robbery" by snatching this woman's handbag, she looked back and saw him and everyone laughed. Hahas

Hmm. Next time I'm watching a musical I'm gonna have to read they're synopsis and whatnot first. I enjoyed PotO last time because I already knew what it was about from watching its movie.

Last weekend before confinement

Tahan Training yesterday. Kennsiang Rueben and Anthony recced this path from Braddell to MacRitchie (passing by Mediacorp) to RI to J8 to Bishan Park, where they did nians and had lunch, then on to AMK Ave 3 to Serangoon Gardens. According to them they attempted to kidnap from both the front and back at the Serangoon Gardens area, cos they were intending to dash trek and run in super detours. Don't know if they succeeded.

One j1 kena sprain, she said its old injury. Another caught flu last night and it seemed to have worsened, yet he came for training. In the end we forced him to sit with us at Serangoon Gardens Chomp Chomp where we bought drinks (at 7-11). Anyway Chomp Chomp wasn't open yet so we didnt eat any buffalo wings.

It started raining at around 3 or 4; they were having evaluation at this Serangoon Community Park and we (laolaos, some seniors and 2 injured/sick j1s) were still at Serangoon Gardens area. In the end they said to go to Serangoon MRT to seek shelter. So we stoned there...

After everyone came and after a nice long chat (j1s by themselves with some laolaos, j2s by themselves with some laolaos) J1s left followed by j2s and us. Weird quarrel between the infamous j2 couple, I dao anyway and we went j8 pizza hut. Crispy thin pizza is totally not worth it. It's hard and not really crispy and I think caoda and not filling. Mango surprise was rather nice though.

At 7 I left for weiqi, we went to TPY to do saigang for today's competition. And after saigang, James (SWA) treated us to pizza hut. Lol.

Sunday-- Toa Payoh East Weiqi Competition.
Its rather stupid. They're trying to squeeze 7 games for grp A into ONE DAY. And I don't think its called Fast Game Competition anyway.

So I was busy the entire morning counting territory, recording results, all that shitty judging things. Most interesting match I saw was between 2 girls (one from RIJC - black; the other dunno from where - white). White was winning like crazy. Then she raised her hand, I went over thinking they endgame liao. After I concluded that white won, black asked, "May I know why I lost?" Like so innocent liddat. So then I thot the game not over, since both parties haven't agreed. So I told them to continue playing. Both had around 3 mins left. After I walked away, both continued playing. Black was like, playing with one hand and pressing the clock with the other almost immediately after white plays, while white still put in some thought and took her time to press the clock. In the end white's time was up! So I got Hsien Yu over to see, explaining that Black was just randomly putting seeds and waiting for time. He concluded that Black was being stupid and ridiculous (with her protesting that they were playing ko) and decided White won anyway. HA.
Wtf. Shitty school for churning out shitty students who have shitty attitude and try to win by resorting to shitty dishonest means. Yirui and I agreed that we felt like giving her a slap for attempting to win like that.

I left at around 1, went to watch CATS at Esplanade with family. Heard that Yurika emerged champion for TPY!! Stunned. Anyway Congrats. :D

ARGH my last 35 hrs free before I enter tekong.

Deadlines are OVER!!! :D

Hahas. Its been 13 days since I last blogged! Not yet one entire week, phew.

Finally! All my deadlines are past. NUS submission of supporting documents deadline: 1st April, NTU ADM submission of portfolio and assignments deadline: 1st April, SMU application deadline: 1st April. Wonder if its simply an April Fool's joke or what.

Anyway. I finished application and submission of everything for SMU on 31st March. Went down to Bras Basah to BBC to photocopy relevant documents, tried to get all my artwork photocopied. Unfortunately only the A3 stuff were successfully photostated; the larger ones were either too thick (collage) or too dark (that shop only had b/w; he said it would result in an all black paper if I photostated that particular charcoal sketch). Haiz.. in the end I could only take a photo of it and submit that photo. Lol. After photostating the relevant documents (and IC and results slip) I went to submit my stuff at SMU.

Yesterday 1 April, Mum fetched me to NUS and NTU to submit their required documents. NUS was near NP, still fine and we found the place (University Hall) really quick. NTU was like super far away, we took AYE up then turned at Pioneer Rd and went up, super ulu. Really don't feel like studying in NTU already. After we got to NTU, we nearly got lost there and finally found the place (student's service center) and I went to level 2 to submit stuff. THEN I found out I hadn't done the composition of "why I am uniquely qualified to enter to particular BFA course". Whats BFA anyway? Hahas. Anyway I stood there at their computer and just started crapping away about why I am qualified. Lame shit.

So when it was all done, mum sent me to Lornie Rd to take a bus to Holy Innocent's Primary.

Watched some concert at YMS yesterday, with kx. All violins and cellos, and even a sextet of violins violas and cellos. Quite nice overall. Kx got free tickets from his tutee so he asked if I wanted to go. His tutee performed the cello. Hahas quite imba anyway. At least, better than me. Dunno if she's better than my brother? Lol.

COOKED YAM RICE AT HOME TODAY. SUCCESSFULLY. YAY YAY YAY !!!:D :D :D

Ichigo evolves

Lol. Naruto 440 and Bleach 350 is out.

Naruto meets his dad, refrains from unlocking the nineth tail and prepares to meet pain again, heads on in the next issue. And for Bleach... lol it's all simply so expected. Ichigo meets a near death experience, he evolves, now we'll be finding out how he managed to evolve. And before they tell us more about that, they show us that Kurosagi now most probably doesn't know how to pronounce intelligent words (sounds like the Joker) and is ultra fast and strong.

Anyway it was my birthday today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!

Family celebrated with me at zhenfa steamboat. It was rather nice :D especially the prawns and the banana chocolate ECLAIRS!!!!

Haha I wanna go zhenfa again soon. Anyway most probably there will be tahan dinner tomorrow, weiqi YC dinner on Sat, P6 dinner on Sun! Yay

Gunung Ayam

13032009 (Fri)
The trip started on Friday. I spent morning preparing, going NTUC to buy eggs and stuff. Then after packing my bag I went sch. 15 J1s and 6 J2s went with me and Eugene (my batchmate, captain for my batch), as well as 2 teacher chaperones. Thats 25 persons in all.

I reached sch at 1430, realized tahan room wasn't open yet, then I went to weiqi to say hi to yanglaoshi and the weiqi jrs, and at 1530 I went back to tahan. Packed stuff, said hi to jrs, YongKai the Captain Cook even came! and he was shocked at my bringing the big heavy frying wok. Anyway he wished us luck and told Eugene and I (the only laolaos on the trip) we were to look after everyone. ARGH.

We left Singapore at around 6. The coach brought us to Singapore and JB checkpoints and it left. We had dinner at near the new JB checkpoint. Then we took this other coach to Kelantan, DABONG Town.

14032009 (Sat) DAY ONE
Reached this petrol station place in the morning where we had breakfast (bread and orange juice for me). Coach continued on the Dabong.

Finally reached Dabong at around 12. Had lunch (energy bars) and started trek. Walked in from some main road into Stong Resort, registered our names and started the real trek :D
Jrs where screwed up more or less. Slow here, complain there, this forget, that missing. But its good that they do cheer and sing most of the time for day 1.

Anyway we went up to Bahas Base Camp via the waterfall path. Uber dangerous but breathtaking :D:D:D Love it! Look up and see the majestic Stong waterfall, look back and see a long way down !!!! :D AHAHA So anyway the J1s complained its too dangerous. ONE SAID HE WAS SCARED IF HE DIED HE WOULD BE DAMN SIAN. AHAHAHAHAHA Cannot stop laughing.

Reached Base Camp at around 3, they gave J1s 30mins to pitch tent, they took 2 hrs. Anyway most of us went to play water first. I went back at 4.30 to start cooking. YAM RICE!!! Peeled and sliced yam, cut dried pork sausages, cooked rice and waited and waited and waited. All the way until 7.30. Rice still wasn't 100% soft and fluffy; yam wasn't soft. Epic failure... But many said it was nice! Haha maybe they haven't eaten imba yam rice yet.

Lesson learnt: don't cook yam rice if you don't have a rice cooker.

15032009 (Sun) DAY TWO
Jrs started cooking at 6.20. They were to finish by 7.45. Hahas that was super early, but I think rather necessary for noob cooks. I started at around 6.40 la. So we finished eating everything at approx 7.45 and lazed around for a while.

Set off at 9, after tentmen packed everything and we warmed up. Path up today was rather easy until it rained. Reached Bahas Summit (1450m) at approx 3, continued on to Ayam Summit (1500m). Reached there at around 5 (after the horrible collecting water experience at spring source where we all waited damn long in the cold weather combined with the rain). I borrowed jr's tiny pot, came up with hot water for everybody, hopefully that made everybody better. Hahas Kai Ni (J1 Cook) wonderful phrase "where to get hot water?" made all of us amused on saturday night.

Cooked Instant Noodles (curry flavour). Added egg, sausages, luncheon. After finishing up some were still hungry, then we realized Lutheng's bag still had some of today's dinner. ARGH. Anyway I was rather full. So the rest suffered from hunger (a bit only la) and lutheng suffered from additional 400g of wait. Ha.

At night it was super cold and raining wet. So all the overland tents leaked, Walrus leaked quite a lot and REI astonishingly leaked too. Everybody had a bad night. I slept 3 hrs lying down then got up (couldn't bear the cold ground despite my waterproof thick jacket) and slept sitting up. Everybody was just sitting up and trying to cuddle together for warmth.

16032009 (Mon)
Woke up at around 4 again. Talked and stoned until around 5.50 then we got out. Cooked milo for everybody (jrs decided to free their jr cooks of the duty, which would have made everybody suffer had I not cooked warm milo). Got the powder and pot from Jrs, then started cooking. It took damn long to warm up (and I was super cold lor) and finally we drank to our heart's content :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D I believe everybody should have been satisfied. Oh yea Lutheng said yesterday night some girls complained and said they were considering quiting tahan. Haha be my guest :D

Set off at 8. Seniors and laolaos warmed up to pumping and starjumps HAHA NICE ONE I LOOK FORWARD TO THE NEXT "YAYA PAPAYA" starjump!
I went in front today. At the start I was in front of Kai Ni, telling her how to walk. She seemed fine. So they appointed me to guide Bernice. So we walked and walked and walked (climbed downwards). Rather slow pace I must say. At a certain point, Fiona's toe decided to bang into her larger than supposed boot and it was hurting like hell so they decided to stop. Jrs carried her load and David supported her down. When we reached the entrance to Bahas Base Camp, Zi Tao (Jr Waterman) decided he was super urgent and rushed to shit.

When we were all ready again the guide piggybacked-supported-guided Fiona down all the way. I carried the guide's haversack, JX carried his daypack. At this super muddy area it was too slippery for me to walk with 2 haversacks. So I just took the easy way out. SLIDE!! Ahahaha but it wasn't really fun. Quite painful on my butt. Hahas. Anyway when I reached the bottom of the super muddy path I stood up and continued walking. Quite a weird feeling though. Hahas. Its like, you have to watch your step in front, but whatever you see comes 1 second later to your feet since it isn't the immediate front due to the stupid haversack blocking the sight. Hahas. Anyway I progressed rather safely.

Returned the haversack to the guide after some time, took his daypack from JX and continued walking, it was much easier then. And after some time the guide took his daypack back. Then we reached Stong Resort finally after a short while. YAY.

Washed up, then took a van to Dabong train station. Dinner there, then we took coach back.

17032009 (Tue)
SAFELY ARRIVED AT SINGAPORE HWA CHONG INSTITUTION AT 1200HRS !!!!!!!!!

Anticipates AYAM

Hahas. I just realized that my results are worse than I thought. I originally thought it meant BBC/A as I misunderstood that the H1 subject considered would be something like GP. Its actually the H1 content subject, or in my case the worst H2 subject. So my results are actually BBC/C. Haiz...

Hahas I'll be applying for scholarships and NUS Archi and ID and perhaps the new course Comm and Media, as well as NTU ADM. Now all I'm relying on are my below average results and my portfolio, which Ivan Lee says is actually pretty good (since I have represented the nation for weiqi quite a few times!). That pretty much comforted me and gave me much more hope hahas :D. But still I'll work on my art portfolio as CMY advised. Anyone knows if SAT is of any use for local universities? If so I'll go take SAT (originally already planning to do so).

Hmm. Yam rice for dinner today. But my aunt didn't use the sauce provided (bought), all she did was fry yam and onion and mushroom and pork and when yam was somewhat soft she added rice to stir around in the mix and then put into the rice cooker to let it cook. It was quite nice, only that YS complained that ONLY YAM RICE FOR DINNER WAS NOT ENOUGH!!! I thought he's on diet. Lol. In the end he biked out to buy some roast chicken (super oily).

GUNUNG AYAM TRIP BEGINS TOMORROW. HOPE I'LL IMPRESS THE J1S WITH MY CULINARY SKILLS!!!! WAHAHA.

lol

Yam Rice on Gunung AYAM!

I'll be going to my aunt's place tomorrow to learn how to cook yam rice (although the instructions are already written on the Chng Kee bottle thingy). Must buy yam (obviously), fried onion bits, garlic, dried mushrooms, dried sausages, shrimps. HAHA I'LL BE COOKING THIS ON AYAM!!!

Luckily we will have almost the entire afternoon resting at stong waterfall campsite on Saturday. So now I'll have time to peel yam, chop garlic and prepare everything. Ahhhh super looking forward to Ayam trip :D:D:D It'll be 90hrs of peace and quietness from my lousy results. HAHA YAY YAY YAYYAYAYAY Shit I sound like a runaway from IMH!

Went helping out at my uncle's shop today. Halfway I cycled over to Serau Lorong Kampong Buangkok, the last kampong in Singapore (according to Wikipedia). Lol it's really small and squeezy. But looks cozy and antiqity. Dunno.

Anyway the Ing Cup Photoblog template is FINISHED YAY. But I don't have time to make my own. So it'll have to wait till after Ayam.

And I just realized that taking photos is somewhat a waste of time (as long as other people are taking photos too). Reason number one: You compete for space while attempting to take your best photo (found out after looking at the 10 mins media time just at the start of the games during Ing Cup). Reason number two: In the end, your photo will just be about the same as another person's photo. Reason number three: Someone else definitely has a more powerful camera/better photo taking skills than you. Reason number four: You waste time after that as you have to upload photos to your computer and then upload it online for all to see. In the end, the most convenient method is simply to wait till others take the photos then you go to kope!!!

HAHA I'm smart right? Okay I know I'm not. Problem is, I'm enlisting in April. Can I both mug for retaken 'A' Levels + survive NS at the same time? I actually also wish to get into OCS... Seems like I'll have to scrape that dream and be content with being normal infantry or even storeman. Maybe clerk, so that I will have more time to mug. Haiz...

Mr R said on the class blog that results we (hc students) may be disappointed with may actually make other JC students really proud to achieve. Its because we've been too conditioned, by the school, to believe that everybody gets 4 'A's. So in the end, did I do badly because 70% of the entire cohort have received at least 3 H2 'A's, or did I do well by improving from a SSSU/D to a BBCC/A?

I really don't know what my mindset now should be. NTU ADM accepts DDD/D grades on its 10th percentile, NUS Archi accepts BCC/C, NUS ID accepts CCC/C... Will my BBC/A be sufficient to enter these courses, since I don't really have much portfolio? Other people may not need to worry (eg. XTY being in AEP) about portfolio, but I don't have much other than the various T-Shirt designs and blog designs and banner designs which I have come up with. I don't have oil paintings, many sketches, films and videos which the general art student have to back them up; all I have is an art background from P1 to S4 in NAFA Junior Art. Is that sufficient? Will they accept me?

Hahas I've begin to realize that other people (high achievers, eg CMY) begin having bad dreams regarding results BEFORE the results are actually out. People like me who have been receiving poor results for a long long time only begin their nightmare AFTER results are out, thinking about whether they will be able to get into that so-and-so course or whatsoever. All in all, I've come to the conclusion that results are still the most important issue in this society and I've begun to regret my action (not mugging hard) during pre-u-student-time. I don't believe I'll get a second chance (with the exception of a reincarnation, that means that I have to die first) at scoring better, unless MINDEF allows me to take more time off NS life so that I can mug for retaken A levels.

So do I retake? Or not. Sigh... I've till the end of March to ponder on this question. Don't know if I can come up with a certain answer by then...

Results and End of Ing Cup

Results were out on Friday. Disappointed that I didn't get the A I know I could have for Maths, but elsewise I really don't know if I'm glad I didn't repeat my Us from Prelims and before for the other subjects.

BBCC/A. Is that cause for celebration, or should I retake 'A's? Quite a few of my friends have been advised (from parents, not teachers) to retake. Myself included. However the 2 Cs really have been a huge grade jump from U or S during Prelims and before, so I think I should be somewhat satisfied?

Anyhow, 06/03/2009 still marks the end of my six years of IP. I'm hoping to be able to get into Architecture or ID or ADM. According to the COP shown on NUS and NTU websites, I do have chance as the previous intake had also accepted BCC/Cs and even DDD for ADM (NTU). I'll have to work on portfolio then...

OKAY. The Ing's Cup (Singapore Lap) has finally concluded. Choi is now at an advantage with 2:1 on Lee. I'm hoping that Choi will win :D. Haha according to Mr Tan, Choi was super elated on Saturday after winning, such that even after most people left the main hall Choi still raised his arms in victory, displaying the "V" symbols happily! Haha when I relayed the news to Suat Yee today at DHS she even said he was so cute!

Sigh.. it rained today all the time when I was on my bike, and when I was near house it stopped raining. Stupid weather. Lols. Anyway when I got to DHS at 4 for weiqi lessons today I was like wet through like a chicken in the soup! (luo tang ji) Hahas. The security guard at DHS didn't really seem to believe that I was here as a coach. Haha.

Now I'm busy coming up with the template for the Ing Cup Blog which Chuanling is creating. I'll do my own template soon (maybe after Gunung Ayam trip with Tahanners this weekend?)

First Match

Lol. Blacked out twice today (3/3). Heard from Hsien Yu that Lee Chang-Ho dao-ed the first one, but stunned at the second one. Those inside mostly thought it was GG, so when the lights came back on Hsien Yu was waving "NO!!!" at Lee Chang-Ho, wanting to tell him to stop game and resume on another day or something. But Lee Chang-Ho daoed him too.

Mr Wu Qing Yuan (Go Seigen) calligraphised a few words yesterday during the Welcome Dinner. "河山一局棋" (Literally, all the rivers and mountains are but a simple game of chess). Figuratively, it simply means Life is but a game. Hahas. Nice.
And I was running all around in the rain, from SWA to Bras Basah Complex, back, and forth, and back, and to Bugis Junction Ajisen for lunch, and back and to BBC and back and forth and ... Met at 10.20 (I was late, as usual, cos I didnt hear my alarm at 7.50 and instead woke up at 9.) and took a cable car over. Glass cabin was super not worth it . Don't ever EVER try it, its just an extra 6 bucks to turn the opaque floor translucent-transparent plastic thingy, so that you can look underneath the cablecar and stare into the ocean. Super big waste of money.
After everything I called the cablecar hotline for corporate bookings; for 20+ tickets for SWA it costs $10 per pax, excluding admission to Sentosa.

Went to Cineblast. I didn't think it was that great: it was just sitting in this chair, buckling up then watching a movie which you sort of "participate" in by being the rider. No water no whatsoever, all that happens is that your seat jerks around and leans forward backward rightward leftward everywhere, together with the movie (its 3D, you get this pair of glasses). Quite boring, would have preferred simply 3D movie (its pirates now) but we didn't watch it. Cineblast and 4D Magix are all not suitable for the elderly and the weak at heart (lol imagine old Mr Ing taking this ride). So now we have it up tentatively, with Butterfly Park and Insect Kingdom as an alternative. Images of Singapore would be nice too (we didn't go).

Next was lunch at Underwater World foodcourt. There was only chicken rice and chicken cutlet rice or noodles available. Price range $6-10. AND THEY CALL THIS A FOODCOURT?!?

Checked out prices of Underwater World and the "fish-bite-leg" thingy (this term was coined by Daniel). We believe the guests are that rich to just spend on this luxury.

Took the luge-and-skyride at Imbiah Lookout after that. NICE! Its a MUST-GO to almost everyone who goes Sentosa!

Anyway thats that for Sentosa. We took the cable car back to Harbourfront.

Duck Tours package: $450+ for 1 entire Duck (31 pax). Cheap, considering the normal price: $33 for an individual adult. Meaning around $1000 for 30 people!

Dan Upgrade Competition

Oh and anyway, congrats to JIEHUI, JIEHUI'S FATHER MR KWA, ZILONG, WENJUN AND ZHENGLI (whos that) for successfully upgrading dan!

And condolences to FCC and all the high dan people who always had such a great handicap. Seems like I'm not really suitable to be some "main judge" or "sole judge". I'm too benevolent perhaps. The rules just don't seem fair: why does a walkover win (or a win where your opponent was absent) mean 5 points out of the maximum 10 points you get for a normal victory? If you win 5 games and your next opponent absents himself, doesn't that garantee you only to be able to achieve 55 points, which is just 5 points short of the minimum for a 1D to raise dan to 2D? The system simply shows so many loopholes all over.

Xingwei and I were arguing over whether Kinokuniya (Takashimaya) was bigger than Popular (Bras Basah Complex, all 4 levels of Popular). I think the problem with CBox is simply the type of layout used. I am using this table layout where the main table "box" changes its content via layers of [div] and [/div] which were hidden originally. Its some javascript function which helps in changing, and I don't really understand it but just edit it accordingly. Other blogs which also use this layout (all table layouts seem to have to use this javascript function thingy) also encounter this problem with refreshing in cBox.

So that means it isn't MY problem with my html skills. Its just the refusal to accept javascript content. So next time I make a template, its either I'll just make a div template or I'll not use CBox as its tagboard. Everything seems correct, all opening tags have been ended, but why doesn't the cbox auto refresh?!? Haiz...

Naruto 436 and Bleach 346 are out! Hahas both the main characters Naruto and Ichigo seem at their wit's end; as if they're out of hope anymore. Most probably Ichigo will go into a state of transformation or whatever as usual and then later learn some new skill or maybe his father enters battle? Naruto's case doesn't seem so hopeless though...

But still, Naruto is much more interesting than Bleach. AND TODAY I JUST SPENT ALL THE TIME AT MY UNCLE'S SHOP!!!

Orbital or Belt Sander?!?

Scm and I went to my uncle's hardware shop to borrow a belt sander. o.O whats that? <wikipedia>[wikipedia]<wikipedia> A belt sander is a machine used to sand down wood and other materials for finishing purposes. That signifies the end of a huge part of the job for me. YAY :D:D:D

And I learnt today that we must come up with another banner design (welcome banner) and landyard design (for officials, both int'l and local, and players) for the competition. Haiz... But welcome banner should be easy. All I need now is the translation of "To Weiqi (Baduk) Officials and Players, WELCOME TO SINGAPORE!!!" to Korean. Anyone knows?

Took mrt/bus to DHS today. Reached there just on time at 4pm. Damn weird, today again there was really little students (5). Hahas so that means the school is just spending money to teach 5 students. But I'm not complaining anyway.

After DHS I walked to Kallang MRT, stopping at some busstops on the way to check out the bus guides and buses available. Then I took 980 home. The entire journey, including walking to Kallang, took 2 hrs. Thats damn long and damn sian. I think I'll ride bicycle next time to DHS.

MY TEMPLATE

Finally. I spent 3 hours yesterday night editting this template which I had come up with in sec 2/3 (2004/05). Don't ask me what keiichi means, I think its just the name of the character/the anime she appeared in. Had some headaches with the background/table codes where the background in the table with words just wouldn't show up! Luckily there were some available templates online where I could go to learn/kope some codes from. If you want, go to here for some nice templates as well as their codes.

Wow. Art by Greg Martin is really cool. My desktop wallpaper now is this "pheonix revisited" piece done by him. Go to artbygregmartin.com for more information about his artworks (abstract/scifi/photos).

Yesterday afternoon was spent mostly in Bras Basah Complex. Visited almost all the art shops there to enquire about the price and types of fancy papers the have available. The printer which my mum's friend recommended, Colordoc, was really helpful. Even though they closed at 3pm, they were still "open (unlocked)" until 5+, such that even after I broswed through all the shops available in BBC AND couldn't find any satisfactory paper material, I could still go to Colordoc for advice. In the end they told me to cross N Bridge Rd to this shop "Fancy Paper" just beside "Great River Book Co (长河书局)". Hahas the fancy papers they sold were simply much cheaper than Popular/ Art Friend/ Sagacity/ etc. $.30 per piece of fancy paper at 260gsm, $.15 per piece of tracing paper at 90gsm, 5% discount for bulk. Next time go there le :D

Hansiong doesn't seem to like the currently chosen design for banner. Its this red-yellow gradient background one, and he prefers this chrome-white gradient background one (which is similar to the invitation card ). So we held a ballot at SWA yesterday, with results of 3 votes for each design! Argh. Anyway the red-yellow one (he refers to it as the lion dance design) should be easily accepted by the elders at ING/SWA. So its fine larh.

Dinner with Yangls and Minyi and Hansiong and Wenjun at Hansiong's favourite QQ. But I didn't eat as I would have had steamboat later at my aunt's house. So we just talked and talked and talked, mostly just "interviewing" Yangls regarding him and weiqi. Like one question was "do you ever find weiqi boring?", and Yangls's reply was something like "cannot help it its my job already". So that means it doesnt mean anything even if you find weiqi boring or you begin to dislike it, even professionals sometimes find it that way too!

Happy Valentine's Day

A happy St Valentine's Day to one and all.

I spent this year's vday in Bras Basah Complex, with tonnes of fancy paper and art paper as my "partner". The description sounds imba. Go to here to find out about Aidmheil.

OKAY THE INVITATION CARD AND BANNER DESIGNS FOR ING'S CUP IS FINALLY FINISHED AND FINALIZED AND COMPLETED AND SENT. IT IS TIME FOR PARTY!!!

Latest Naruto and Bleach are out. Naruto is interesting, Bleach is getting boring. Tite Kubo of needs to know that he/she is getting too long winded with Bleach, with today's 19 pages simply reaving how imba Ulquiorra, when unleashed, is. Haha the Kurosaki is typically the weak and stupid main character who grows stronger throughout the series, yet never seems to win any of his opponents. Rather a common theme for adventure/journey genre manga series.

Went delivering grey PVC pipes at Kingsmeade Rd (coronation) and 5 ladders at Yewtee NTUC today. Frustratingly we met with troublesome incidents at both locations.
At Kingsmeade, we couldn't find 54 Kingsmeade Rd initially!!! After reading through the long long description for the project for construction of a new house at the end of Kingsmeade Rd (that house was demolished liao and doesnt look like a house) we realized that WAS 54 Kingsmeade Rd.
At Yewtee, NO STAFF FROM NTUC WAS PRESENT!!! It was at this new NTUC at the basement of Yewtee Point, the new (and uncompleted) shopping centre beside Yewtee MRT. Present only were the contracters and workers building NTUC. And the biggest problem was THERE WAS NO MOBILE RECEPTION at the basement of that shopping centre. Yet. So we went downstairs with 5 ladders, they said cannot receive, went upstairs with the ladders, called boss who said go downstairs and tell them just pass to this guy cos no PO, then went downstairs with the ladders, they said no NTUC staff present, all were contracters and workers only, went back upstairs again with the ladders, called boss who said he will call Ah Lei, went to dabao coffee and yewtiao, went back, received call from Ah Lei who gave me Martin's number, called Martin who said he was on his way, went to wait, finally Martin came, went downstairs with the ladders and Martin, put the ladders in this room after going through piles and piles of debris and whatnots, and finally we left. Waited for approximately 40 minutes. Zzz

Notice that around half of the above paragraph concerning Yewtee NTUC was typed in one single sentence. Although the sentence structure sucks.

Finally had dinner at home with mum today. For the past few days, it was either that she came back late or I was caught up at SWA designing the card and banner. And throughout today's dinner, I was again, ultra busy with calls to important persons in charge of Ing's Cup overall, taking notes on what to edit later after dinner, and this and that. Sigh...

My brother came back from orientation at NYJC today. They don't have CAMPFIRE!!! HWACHONG ORIENTATION IS SO MANY TIMES BETTER THAN NY ORIENTATION! WAHAHA. Anyway today is the last day of orientation for J1s. Hope you guys enjoyed orientation. Try not to sleep too much (ironical that this is coming out from the sleeping king in 07s6b) during tutorials and lectures. Hahas.

Looking forward to Tahan juniors training their juniors. Shall be joining them for either Hort Park or Bukit Timah Orientation Hike. If this continues, I think I will totally screw NS and BMT. And my platoon mates will like, hate me? For giving them all the punishment for being late for morning PT. Sigh...

Haven't had time to change the template yet, even though I already have ready ones for use. I think I'll be using a Lee Sedol template so some editting will be involved as it was originally meant to be a "fan club" template. Hahas yea I was (and am) that crazy.

Just realized today that carrying a laptop in a sling bag while riding a bicycle to work isn't all that fun. The bag is heavy and keeps dropping to your lap, and then your legs keep knocking into the bag as you cycle... Really troublesome. Next time I'll use a backpack. The double-sling bag.

Singapore's finally raining more frequently!! 2 days ago, yesterday and today. But I shouldn't be able to cheer as I turned into a wet chicken due to the rain on tuesday. Wet like crazy. Had to go home to shower before I went to SWA lol.

I think I can start to celebrate already, as I believe that the invitation card design has more or less been finalized!! Was having headaches translating the invitation message to chinese, so I went baidu to search. And today, Dr Chan made the whole thing so much easier by telling me where to write what and what! So now its done! Just waiting for the final verdict.

I'll put the format for the chinese invitation here, in case anybody needs it (or in case I need it in future and lost the original on my computer)
《×××女士/先生：
兹定于日、时
在地点
举行活动
届时敬请光临。
此致敬礼！

××协构
发送时间》

To HC J1s '09, HAPPY CAMPFIRE TOMORROW!!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://p-osh.blogspot.com/2009/02/finished-with-card-design-i-think.html' title='Finished with card design!! I was late for work at my uncle's hardware shop again today, having not heard my alarm even though it repeated itself so many times, and I think I even "woke up" half way in my sleep to switch off the alarm.

Went teaching weiqi at Dunman High School today. Set off 1.5hours ahead of time so as to not be late, and I reached there 50 minutes early. So I wasted that 50 minutes walking around the school compound (it's small la.) and bought a Pokka Lemon Tea ($1 only!! so cheap!) and saw their indoor volleyball/basketball court (wah!! cool!). Lesson started at 4. Lion dance drums disturbed us throughout the lesson.

Lessons at DHS was weird given that I don't really understand what I should be teaching at all!! Is it supposed to be beginner classes? Or Intermediate classes? Also there was simply too little students to teach normally, so it became more of a "friend friend tutor-research" session. 3 people at the start!! That's rather fresh. So in the end we just played handicap games, and towards the end of the session I just gave some people who came in later tutorial regarding what exactly was weiqi. I think it was rather successful?

Cycled to DHS from Serangoon, and back home from DHS. Route passed by Tanjong Rhu Bridge (nice!), National Stadium (construction -.-), Balestier, Boonkeng, Thomson. Dead tired when I got home.

I've been busy designing Ing Cup related items these few days. Banner and invitation card. Invitation card is very tedious, as I had to translate text from English to Chinese. Sigh... Spent hours on it and its not finished yet. Also I really need someone fluent in Chinese to evaluate my translated text. Got the format from Baidu.com, really weird. Don't really understand some of the words they used LOL.

Ahh its late already. 1.51 AM!!! And I need to wake up early tomorrow again, for work at my uncle's place. Sigh...

osh kosh p.osh gosh! rosh (an)

Hello world!

This is osh.
